I had a 5th grader bring a snake to school in his backpack. Yes, you read that right... a live snake. He said he had to walk slow to class not to rock the snake too much.

I teach elementary and the best ones are when the kids write excuse notes pretending to be their parents. My favorite one is “Dear Mrs. Williams. Elliot was late to class because he helped me clean the kitchen in my office."
