We’ve always loved reading with our daughter, books have been part of our day since she was little. She’s in 2nd grade now and really enjoys stories, but often struggles to read smoothly. especially when there are new / tricky words... We try to mix it up with her reading to us and us reading to her, and try to make it feel fun. She brings books back home with her from school (ony ones she likes), and we’ve been reading at different times during the day... not just at bedtime when everyone’s half asleep haha.. but I feel like there’s more we could do to help her feel more confident.
Does anyone have tips or things that worked with their kids? Maybe activities, games, or books that really made a difference? She’s super eager to get better at it which makes me so proud as a parent, and I just want to keep that excitement going… I’d love to hear what worked for you 🙏
EDIT: Just to be clear, this is something she wants to work on, and we’re just trying to help her along. Thanks for all the ideas so far!
