Hi guys! I teach 2nd grade, and we're starting to tackle “there,” “their,” and “they're." I have my usual lesson plan but looking to mix things up a bit with posters to hang up in the classroom and games / worksheets I haven't tried before. Thanks for any suggestions!
I printed a large poster with all three homophones and hung it up in my classroom. From time to time, I would challenge my students by reading them a sentence, and they would have to say which 'there,' 'their,' or 'they're' is correct!
Fill in the Blank worksheets work well in my class. Where students choose the correct word based on context... You could also do a "Sentence Creation" challenge where they write their own sentences using all three versions of the word.
