What is the meaning of personification? Personification is when we give human qualities to things that are not human, such as an object, idea, or animal. For example: "The sun smiled down at us." (The sun cannot actually smile, but this makes it seem warm and friendly.) Worksheet instructions: Circle the object being personified and underline the action that shows personification.
